DAS Graduate School verenigt vier verschillende programma's: DAS Theatre, DAS Choreography, DAS Creative Producing en DAS Research. Het is het eerste instituut in Nederland dat master-, doctoraats- en onderzoeksprogramma's onder één dak samenbrengt om de ontwikkeling van het voortgezet onderwijs in de podiumkunsten te versterken.

De voertaal bij DAS Creative Producing is Nederlands. Bij Theatre, Choreography en Research is de voertaal Engels.

Welcome to the DAS Graduate School

Established by the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance, DAS Graduate School unites four different programmes: DAS Theatre, DAS Choreography, DAS Creative Producing and DAS Research.

It is the first institute in the Netherlands to bring master’s, doctorate and research programmes together under one roof in order to strengthen the development of advanced education in the performing arts.

DAS Creative Producing - 'The world won't change itself.' Dat geldt ook voor de wereld van de kunsten. Er is behoefte aan kritische producers met een duidelijke eigen visie, die voorbij bestaande structuren en disciplines denken en werken. DAS Creative Producing is er voor hen. De master DAS Creative Producing - Entrepreneurship in the Arts is een tweejarige, interdisciplinaire en internationaal georiënteerde deeltijdopleiding voor projectleiders, producenten, zakelijk leiders, curatoren die zich willen ontwikkelen tot creative producer.

DAS Theatre - DAS Theatre is a master’s programme for research-based artistic and curatorial practices in the field of theatre that is open to Dutch and international practitioners working in the performing arts as artists, curators, directors, performance makers and dramaturgs.

DAS Choreography - Artists who have established a professional practice, and seek possibilities for further reflection and development can increase their research skills at DAS Choreography. This two-year non-residential master’s programme of the Amsterdam University of the Arts aims to contribute to the field of critical and contemporary dance practice. The individual artistic practice is the point of departure and will be the guiding thread of the course design.

DAS Research - DAS Research is the research department of the Academy of Theatre and Dance (ATD) and carries out research into, through and for practice. It supports and supervises research into artistic, cultural and societal transitions that impact on existing working methods – and by extension on performing artists’ values, knowledge and choice-making. The research programme focusses on the research domains: Artistic research in the 3rd Cycle (THIRD), Embodied Knowledge in Theatre and Dance and Creative Producing.

DAS Theatre Research Labs 2020: What Can Theatre Do?

"What about art education now? What can or should art education do in a moment when society is shaken by an unprecedented combination of political, economic and sanitary crises, also affecting the artistic field to a point that it is impossible to foresee how it can operate and develop?

In response to these questions, DAS Theatre presents 'What Can Theatre Do?', a series of Research Labs meant as a queer deviation from the norm of DAS Theatre's curriculum. The Labs are open to encounters, and documented to become available for others in forms such as public lectures and conversations, sharing and open workshops.
